Agreed! I thought Simon was being so silly with his self-deprecation until the first time I spent half an hour yelling at my screen about the easier/more elegant thing he missed while proceeding to brilliantly puzzle something out the much harder way. Plus I think there's a degree of doing something hard while knowing you're recording for an audience of thousands has got to make you self-conscious.
