I could totally understand this if its a favourite book. Something you love so much that you want to make notes and mark favourite quotes and moments and other stuff. Or maybe even for a book club where you are going to talk about the book with other people and want to easily find key moments.

I could probably even understand if this was for content, like annotating talking points for a review etc but I can tell you the majority of booktubers I have watched (and even blog reviewers) don't talk that deep about books, even when they devote a good amount of time to a review. (I don't do tiktok so I am unsure about book reviews there tho.)

Anyone have some examples of tiktok videos that show this?
