Re: Favorite of 2022

Movie from 2022: The Batman
Movie not from 2022: Jojo Rabbit

Show: Ted Lasso (mainly S1), Succession, and Severance. All phenomenal, but each in very different ways.

Album: I think the only new album that I listened to straight through was Midnights by Taylor Swift, which I do like a lot. Listening to whole albums isn’t my MO, generally; it’s just not how I like to engage with music. But I did listen to Modern Vampires Of The City straight through several times and liked it. I also listened to both AM and Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not by The Arctic Monkeys several times through and thought they were pretty great.

Best songs I got into this year:
Like I Used To by Angel Olsen & Sharon Van Etten
Run Cried The Crawling by Agnes Obel
The Steps by Haim
Something In The Way by Nirvana
How To Disappear by Lana Del Rey
Flipside by Lana Del Rey
31 And Falling by Chris Pureka

I literally read like three novels all year, so picking a favorite isn't really all that meaningful, but I did just finish Dark Rise by C S Pacat and was surprised by how much I liked it. It managed to surprise me in a couple of places and the central pairing is a deliciously twisty slowburn, which I'm definitely here for.
