Yeah, I've had to leave BSD fandom spaces (or add lots of filters, or take long breaks) because look, I like Dazai and Chuuya as characters, but not to THAT level and not together, and I actually enjoy the way the two characters interact with EVERYONE NOT EACH OTHER more than I like watching their eternal bitching between themselves.

But not only is the bulk of the fandom like "isn't this ALL of us?", the ones that 'fall out of' love of that pairing will just heap scorn on one of them, like it's not both of them that have the really, really high body count.

I mean, I get the individual complaints, usually? But they're both pretty horrible people when you get down to it. ESPECIALLY when they're together. And there's so much more to the series than just those two characters, but between the rabid lovers and the rabid haters, fandom seems to have no bandwidth for anything else.
