Yes. Yes it does.
It's hard for me to believe anyone is inspired by someone who has drawn the same cartoony bile in the 5 years I've known her.
Maybe, just maybe, if she mixed it up and tried to push herself to improve I wouldn't think this is just an attempt to give her a pat on the back by one of her friends, but she hasn't, never will, and the portfolio she's working on now won't be any better then the ones she's submitted to rare and other places in the past.

I'm a complete passerby, but I wanted to say something when I saw the secret and it's kind of cool that I can say it directly to you. Fanworks are just as valuable and wonderful as original works as long as you are following your bliss. Do what makes you happy. ^^

I really just want a nice balance of original and fanworks, but it's just lately my head has been blank on the original factor with the less time I now have to devote to drawing.

The secret poster is really making me think about this.

And it's hard for me to believe that anyone that's actually known this lovely lady for five years could possibly spew this kind of venom.

Who is to say that she hasn't been an inspiration to somebody? Just because you get nothing out of it doesn't mean other people are the same. Fuck, there are secrets on here about people being inspired by all kinds of series and creators and some of them are damn goofy.

And even if this secret IS one of her friends patting her on the back, lord knows she deserves it with vile acquaintances like yourself stabbing her in the back. Christ forbid that someone make a positive secret about her for once!

If you feel like she should improve, then there's a lot nicer ways to go about saying it. I never quite understood the ...anger? I don't know what it is I'm getting from you. If you had responded with an honest critique or something to try to help like a regular friend would, that would have been understandable. But something like "LOL" only strikes me as bitchy, self-patting snark that well, I guess makes you feel better about yourself! Somehow.

Because it's painfully obvious that the secret is just from someone in her circlejerk and I felt like laughing at the fact that people find inspiration in a 27-year-old whose idea of job searching is going to Comic-Con with the same crap year after year and whose mother won't let her work in retail. Which is basically telling Cammi to get back to creating things.

Creating things which will inevitably lead to pushing herself to improve.

Cammi is a HORRIBLE ROLE PLAYER, and therefore is not allowed to be treated nicely. She deeply offended some people in an RP with more Unwarranted Self Importance than you can shake a stick at. The BNFs of that fandom therefore have the right to demand that everyone, at every time, then treat Cammi like shit, so that they feel justified in doing so as well.

It's like you just don't understand how role playing on the internet works.

That was one of the last times I had all the time in the world to devote to elaborate drawings.

Things change. My offline life has been a priority in the last two years so I haven't been drawing as seriously as I used to. If this means I'll never be seen as a professional artist, then so be it. I can't aim for that right now.

Not everyone can sit on their ass killing 8+ hours a day on photoshop and intricate inking.
