Considering you are doing the exact opposite of what you describe all over this thread yourself it's no wonder you have such a skewed perspective.

What really happens is:
Someone says: "Nah, can't watch this because of the squeaky voiced annoying female lead"
And then stans of the show jump on them and shake them by the shoulders and yell:" NO but you don't understand, it's really good, actually!!!"
And the other person goes: "That's nice but the female lead annoys me too much so that spoils it for me and I cant watch it."
And the stand go: "But it's really great, you shouldn't let the thing that annoys you stop you from watching it!!"
"Nah, I'm good, you go enjoy your show and I'll find something else."
"WHY ARE YOU HATING ON MY FAVOURITE SHOW YOU'RE SO MEAN!"

You keep seeing the personal preference by others as a personal attack because you like it.

Yeah, but they're not just expressing a personal preference.

They're offended people like something that they don't.

Saying, "I understand why you don't like it but I happen to enjoy it," isn't saying anything but, "I happen to enjoy it."

They're not though.

NAYRT, and this is my first time that I've commented on this, but: it really comes across the other way. It really comes across like someone is saying "I happen not to enjoy this" and the response is "Well that's fair but you're wrong because actually it's really good for all of these reasons".

Consistently, across several conversations now, it's come across as fans of the show taking it as an insult when people express mild dislike for it.
