It has already had its first screw up here. The first hymn in church this morning had one set of lyrics in the hymnal and a different set of lyrics displayed on the church's sing a long tv screen. Half the congregation singing one version, the other singing another, and everyone getting all confused and faltering to a stop. They say that whatever you do on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing the rest of the year. So, I guess this year's theme is already confusion, tech and paperwork problems.

Fandom question, or maybe not fandom

Honestly I decided to start the year by chatting to relatives (the old 'are you dating yet') and reading a BL webcomic and now am left wondering: do people ACTUALLY feel things like body burning or ears ringing when they kiss or are those just poetic wordings?

Because (granted, as a 30 yo woman who's kissed only a few times) I never felt anything special when kissing and have been wondering if I am really just ace or maybe an aroace who happens to (have learned to) be into romance stories. eh

I mean, you're not wrong. any religion that encourages questioning comes with the caveat that questioning is supposed to affirm that faith, not cause one to leave, so literally any religion is going to get mad when you see through the veil and nope out.

the frustration I see here is that atheists by nature are just not allowed to have anything. from having our lack of belief called its own belief system to having anyone representing us claimed as someone/something else. we just can't win.

idk about those specific descriptors but yeah, a good makeout leaves me flushed and warm. it's arousal. I've never been in love though so I can't speak to having arousal reactions over barely-there physical contact or emotional situations like in fiction.

Yeah, I'm one of those people who couldn't finish because I really can't stand baby-voiced female lead characters. There's just something unsettling watching a character who is a grown woman (and who will later have a romantic relationship like she's a grown woman) pout and full on aaahhhhhhhggggghhhhaaaaaa wail like a toddler because of some trivial disappointment. This is a character type that's 100% acceptable in cdramas, but I really don't like it and tend to nope out of them pretty quickly.
