Is it just me or is the secret really more about the fact that the person feels that this community is being promoted through false advertising than what their actual opinions are? It's not complaining about the community being unfair or anything - it's saying that it's being advertised in communities focusing on the very ship they seem to be bashing. It's not the ship that's the problem, it's the hypocritical nature.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting. Like, Windy/Luckeh seems to be happy with BOTH Kataang and Zutara (which fills me with glee; I love people like that <3). But her co-admins? Complete assholes about it. I think that's one of the reasons I haven't kicked my ass into gear for rounding out my RP character for Hou Tian. ^^;

You uh, do know that as Luckeh's Co-mod, I can honestly say I have never ONCE said anything bad about Zutara, it is my otp, and I am a member of both Z_K and CAPSTARA right?

Still, It's like, I turn around and I see more insults than I do anything else. And where there are insults, I think people who are pro zutara stay away and that's condoning it to me. I hate it. I hate it so much. Keeping quiet is why the shit keeps hitting the fan every time Zutara's brought up and it's ridiculous.

I DON'T CARE if they're kidding, it's still stupid and annoying and needs to stop before I get myself active on there. I hate seeing my otp trashed regardless of it being a joke or not. Really, if ship bashing would be nipped in the bud in the first damn place, maybe I would RP. Sadly, this never happens anywhere so I don't.

I think we stay away because the only people who have ever actually said "boo don't ship zutara." are the same ones who avidly ship it.
[ One of our most popular spam threads is called Reasons Why you should Ship Kataang- which is a rather long, and highly funny satire of both shipping arguments- it devolves into femmeslash porn links and Zuko having to excuse himself, but still. The others I would say have a 60% chance of Zuko and Katara ending up naked and sexing it up in an igloo. ]

Recently, we got a new player for Katara and have finally gotten some players for some of the canons [we're still out a St Jun and I can't play her.] but if it really bothers you that much, I'm sure we can manage to avoid it. I feel like it would be a big shame for you to not get to RP with us based on the fact that you feel the atmosphere is unwelcoming, which I haven't found to be true.

Perhaps you could try again, and I can speak to any people who ship bash. Touda's got your back.

I remember seeing that insanity (Have a few of those pics saved *coughcough* ^_~). I guess... I'm sick of seeing it all the time, even from my fellow Zutarians. I'm not used to making fun of my own ships like that. Yeah, I can poke fun at the impossibility or what have you. But insulting it like a Kataanger would our ship? I hate it and can't stand it, even if it's supposed to be in jest. It's beyond stupid and it's one of many reasons why we have such vitriol when it comes to shipping in the Avatar fandom.

I hope it tones down. I just want it all to end. It's been nearly a year since the finale and the shit still flies. The jokes against other ships need to end and I don't care who says them.

I honestly feel like nothing say is insulting. Perhaps I feel this way because everything is immediately proceeded by: Actually, ship whatever, we love all the ships.

Like I said, I feel like if you want to come and play with us, I think we can avoid so called 'shipping wank'. We have too much fun with OC ships and just goofing off in general to be nasty about it. [Currently we're debating between Lona and Teddi or Lona and Amatt- all OCs - and playing Guy Love from Scrubs for Touda and Zuko.]
