OH god, Avatar fandom, can you ever just freaking stop. Like can we all just accept that people like different things and not everyone is going to like the same things as you.

I am just tired of the stupid ship stuff, but as a whole Avatar fandom isn't welcome and it has stopped being fun for a while.

I just would like to be in a fandom where you aren't being attacked for your freaking pairing or character preferences.

Good luck finding one of those. Just about every fandom I know of has those same problems to one degree or another. :\ It's just a fact: you get a large group of people together and there's going to be conflicting opinions. It's just unfortunate that some characters/pairings get more shit than others.

That wouldn't work. I wouldn't confine my hate to one thread. I doubt anyone else would show restraint. It would just be adding to the "so-called" problem.

this is totally late, but I moderate at this community. This lurker didn't pay any attention. We have several hardcore shippers on both sides of the aisle and frequently joke about it in intro posts. We often go: oh you can't hate ____ or you can't ship _____. but eventually we all say: just kidding, we really don't care, read and have fun.

For the record, I hate Mai. And Artemis LOVES her. Luckeh ships zutara and Venicegirl is a passionate Kataanger. We're goof offs, but I love being a part of it. ^^

Is it just me or is the secret really more about the fact that the person feels that this community is being promoted through false advertising than what their actual opinions are? It's not complaining about the community being unfair or anything - it's saying that it's being advertised in communities focusing on the very ship they seem to be bashing. It's not the ship that's the problem, it's the hypocritical nature.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting. Like, Windy/Luckeh seems to be happy with BOTH Kataang and Zutara (which fills me with glee; I love people like that <3). But her co-admins? Complete assholes about it. I think that's one of the reasons I haven't kicked my ass into gear for rounding out my RP character for Hou Tian. ^^;
