Yeah, C-drama fans in general have much stricter standards when it comes to judging female characters but most are in denial about it. Male characters who are written with the same traits and tropes that would immediately get a female character called annoying or unlikable are either liked or viewers feel neutral about them. I've seen this quite a few times in the historical genre, e.g. strong and confident female characters are deemed as "too rude" and "too cold" whereas male leads with these traits are usually loved.

Most women who watch these dramas are attracted to men and people tend to be much more forgiving towards people they are attracted to.
