I agree, OP. :( I understand what they were going for, but I'm tired of romance being regarded by TV/movies as unnecessary or "lesser than".

Nearly every other character was in a happy romance at the end, so this show wasn't trying to say romance was lesser, just that it wasn't the right thing for Rebecca at the time. Also what type of shows are you watching where treating romance as lesser is the trend? Most shows I watch end with the main character paired up... even ones that originally weren't planning to.
