Those (personally) fall under generic for me since they're very much the trend right now. I'm a fan of the pulp covers from the 40-60s, any covers that look like old movie posters, or like the cover to the VHS for Star Wars Prequel #1. The 60s had some really wild stuff going on -- super cool, IMHO although I'm sure it suffered through what each trend does.

There's an adventure/spy/thriller whose title I can't recall but the cover sticks with me to this day.
