Books that should be movies....

I'm re-reading Thorne Smith's 'Night Life of the Gods', and while there is a 1935 film, it would be great to see it re-done on like Netflix or HBO. Get all the silliness and sweetness of the book *plus* all the debauchery and nudity. :D

An honestly? Pretty much any Cherryh sci-fi would be awesome in movie form, especially Downbelow Station.

Night Life Of The Gods is a GREAT book and you're totally right, it would make a phenomenal film - we don't get nearly enough of that screwball comedy style of humor anymore. So.... totally agree with you on that one!

I would really like to see someone do a good adaptation of the Amber books, personally.

Everything by Brandon Sanderson, honestly. Especially anything in the Cosmere would make for great movies (or tv).

Still bitter that the best Narnia book, Magician's Nephew, has never become a movie.

And I agree on any Cherryh sci-fi, I'd also expand that to include her fantasy, would make great movies.

I'm not familiar, have to google! :D

OMG, this. I loved 'Magician's Nephew', but also 'A Horse and His Boy' - talking horse! My wee tweeny heart went pitter-pat.

YES YES YES. I would love to see the Rusalka series done, or the Fae books, Goblin Mirror, the Fortress series, MORGAINE!!!!
*cough*
I get a little excited. :D

Sanderson is probably my favorite current fantasy author. I'm a sucker for interesting, expansive worldbuilding, and he's a master at that. And he mixes fantasy and scifi beautifully. Most of his series are each set in a different world, but part of the same overarching universe.

Nice! I haven't read a new fantasy author in forever.
