Kenpachi and Yachiru - he's the captain of the eleventh division in Soul Society, and she's his vice-captain. If I recall correctly, he was a vagrant murderer without a name, and he found a baby, who he named Yachiru. Then he named himself. Or something.

I'm not a fan of this pairing at all, but I don't really care if people want to pair them up. :| Maybe it's because I'm a huge Rock Lee and Maito Gai fan and I'm already used to people twisting their relationship into something more than the father/son bond they have? It doesn't really bother me that much even though I would never want to read it that way in a million years, and I guess I feel the same on Yachiru and Kenpachi. Do people make her older in the smut (as often they would with Rin and Sesshomaru or however you spell their names)?

If it had been a generic joke that others would have come up with, I'd agree. However, it wasn't. It was a personal stupid joke between my best friend and I and because I was friends with this other person I shared it with them one night on AIM and two days later ... she's written a fic about it. It really was the kind of thing that no one else would have joked about because there's nothing in canon to back it up at all. Nothing in canon to even make it come to mind. It was just this stupid thing created in the fic universe in which I wrote it and she built an entire fic around it and didn't even say a thing about it to me before or after she wrote it.

And a chapter fic, no less. I really wish I had just addressed the issue when it happened a year ago, it's kind of pointless to say anything now especially since I no longer talk with her. It just nags at me because I can't use that joke in my own writings because she took it and just ruined it for me.

7. Hmm for me, I rarely ever post in my non-fandom journal- probably only like once every 2 months. In my fandom journal I post a lot about my life because I think those people care more. The sad thins is, they apparently do haha.

I know the feeling. I closed my personal journal of five years last October due to getting tired of broadcasting my personal life and also because no one seemed to care either way. If I did post something personal some dumbass who was still on my f-list because they were too lazy to delete it would want to say something snide, as though I wasn't allowed to have problems like everyone else. So I went to an almost solely creative journal. 90% of the posts are unlocked and I have a lot less drama and more people wanting me because they're friends.

Fandom people really do seem to care more sometimes for some reason.

I concur, and it's probably the main reason I spend more time talking with my fandom friends than my rl friends. Most of my flist is made up of people I've met through fandom, and even on my rl posts, they comment more than my rl friends.

In my mind she's kind of a mascot or lucky charm for both kenpachi and the 11th division. I don't see kenpachi pairing with anyone...if he even likes you, he wants to fight you. would be kind of hard on any romantic interest.
