If it had been a generic joke that others would have come up with, I'd agree. However, it wasn't. It was a personal stupid joke between my best friend and I and because I was friends with this other person I shared it with them one night on AIM and two days later ... she's written a fic about it. It really was the kind of thing that no one else would have joked about because there's nothing in canon to back it up at all. Nothing in canon to even make it come to mind. It was just this stupid thing created in the fic universe in which I wrote it and she built an entire fic around it and didn't even say a thing about it to me before or after she wrote it.

And a chapter fic, no less. I really wish I had just addressed the issue when it happened a year ago, it's kind of pointless to say anything now especially since I no longer talk with her. It just nags at me because I can't use that joke in my own writings because she took it and just ruined it for me.
