maybe people are resistant because speculating about someone's suicide is awful for those he left behind...?
just a thought

This so hard. I rage inside when people start to bring dark theories behind Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington's death like... You're minimizing why people need help if they have suicide thoughts and giving pain to the ones that knew them with fake shit.

Then those people would be nobly refraining from engaging in discussion, not arguing that oh no, that couldn't be the reason because blah blah blah blah

Honestly? I don't think you're alone with this opinion and I do think she was an asshole to a fragile person. She did asshole stuff, but likely did not predict that this would happen. He was divorced and middle-aged, and honestly, at this age we've seen a lot of shit and had shit happen to us and manage to mostly cope.

I also believe that people are ultimately responsible for themselves and their decisions, even final ones, except in certain cases (pushing specific buttons or literally urging someone who is troubled to kill themselves, as in the case of that girl who was convicted for this).

Oh you are definitely not alone cause I am right there with ya! Dude was a massive douche with giant ego and it was about to go public about him paying off her victim. She also denied that it happened privately before admitting to it to at least two separate people and I struggle to imagine she didn’t eventually admit it to him since he was the one who fronted the money. I think a combination of guilt for his role and anger that she made a fool of him yet again absolutely contributed. He was dissatisfied in life in general and she was the only “good” thing even though he knew she wasn’t good for him at all.
