People are saying that since 2023 is the Chinese Year of the Rabbit that it'll be an easy year because rabbits are cute and cuddly and tame. Clearly these people have never watched Watership Down.

Rabbits culturally being assigned as both trickster figures and ultimate vessels of extreme fertility makes this belief it will be an "easy" year even funnier.

(Do want to say I've owned a couple of house rabbits in my time and they are lovely pets when you actually bother to interact with them...though they WILL sit with their arse facing you if you upset them, a power move of "I'm not talking to you but you WILL look at me while I won't talk to you" in bunny body language.)

Haha, and even in real life, rabbits are hella high maintenance pets. I love my rabbit dearly, but it's like having a spoiled toddler sometimes. And rabbits aren't cuddly. They don't like to be cuddled. You try and cuddle a rabbit and its small prey animal instincts will kick in, and if you're lucky that's the only kicking that will happen.

this is why I think kids shouldn't even have rabbits, they should be a pet for adults.
