The best example of a good cop on tv is Big from Reservation Dogs. He's supposed to be ineffectual and a joke, but really he has the support of his community, keeps kids out of trouble and jail, and generally keeps things running just fine albeit without much reference to the actual law or smacking people into line. He's a good cop, just not a badass cop.

I first read this as Reservoir Dogs and thought, yeah, the undercover cop is a good one because he dies in Harvey Keitel's arms on a shitty warehouse floor.. But oops, different fandom!
