The BBC is bitching about S2 of His Dark Materials having low ratings, and how it shows there is little appetite for SFF in the UK audience, but it is a tightly serialised work whose first episode they first bumped forty minutes late in the schedule for a stupid football game running late, then twenty minutes into the forty minute extra time they announced at the show's start time, they cut the soccer game after-match analysis short and started the episode. They, somehow, started it both late and early, then the next week they bumped it to a different day of broadcast so people tuning in to catch episode two found that they'd missed it due to it being broadcast a day early. Gee, I wonder why there might be low ratings and people unable/unwilling to catch up. The BBC keeps fucking itself in the ass with an unlubed stick when it comes to genre television and complaining about splinters, somethings never change.
