Applying Fridge Logic to most anything in shounen manga, or most media that's not going for a realistic depiction of real people's lives, is going to result in Fridge Horror.

That's why Fridge Logic should be considered a thought experiment and not a guideline for storytelling. Some things aren't meant to be follow the rules of real life.

Also never got far in Naruto but I always got the impression Sasuke has way more haters than fans.

Fridge Logic is something not immediately obvious that you realize as you're idly mulling some aspect of the story over. I don’t think that applies to Sasuke, whose crimes are openly on display the entire time he's committing them.

I'm mostly in this fandom for the memes and gay head canons, but yeah Sasuke sucks lol
(but ngl he's still fun to ship with Naruto. Even funnier with half-context of Boruto that I'm getting from people who are actually reading that manga)

I'm a big fan of Sasuke and his living atonement (if only we could get more of these), but I absolutely agree with your "there is no ethical participation in the ninja caste system" sentiment. The world of Naruto is just insanity stacked on horror dumped on traumatized kids who grow up and perpetuate the cycle. It's really strange how dark the series is compared to its relatively simple main character.

I love how dark the ninja caste system is and, in my honest opinion, Danzo was a natural extremity of it and I don't really disagree with him and his ROOT operatives. Yes, yes, terrible things and terrible people but based on the information given in universe I absolutely see where he comes from.

If anything, Naruto is the anomaly in his universe because he literally makes no sense for someone raised in a world like that. Sasuke's a jackass and should have been killed as a traitor to the village, because he was a traitor to the village.

Instead the universe ignored all of its own worldbuilding and off it went warping around Naruto and, ugh, I hate when that happens. I like seeing characters work within their universes, not have the universe change to accommodate them.

I'm so glad Sharpay Evans beat his ass.

I agree with this secret. Naruto was the final straw that made me walk away from shounen as a genre.
