Pratt did none of those things besides being a Christian

He attends a church with links to Hillsong, and I think it's reasonable as a common usage of language to describe him as a Hillsonger on that basis.

Doesn’t make him a homophobe

(Anonymous) 2023-01-18 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure.

DA No, he does not, and to my knowledge, he hasn't done any of the things you are accusing him of except belong to a religion you don't like. You sound like one of those idiots who believes anything they see on twitter if it comes form their own side. At any rate, you need to stop spreading lies.

He attends - or at least, at one point he attended - a church whose founder was friends with Hillsong's pastor, spoke at Hillsong conferences, and consciously modeled the church after Hillsong. I think "links to Hillsong" is a reasonable description of those facts.

Can you link me to a source for this?

blogpost talking about going to Hillsong conferences:

https://hillsong.com/collected/blog/2015/06/when-god-spoke-chad-veach/#.YwTbHOzML0p

NYT article where he mentions patterning it off Hillsong:

https://web.archive.org/web/20180324000249/https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/17/style/zoe-church-evangelical-chad-veach-pastor.html

to be clear, I'm not saying that the church shares Hillsong's politics, just that the church is modeled after Hillsong and the guy who founded it has links to Hillsong

Interesting that he was just in the news in the last 8 or so months over this.

He specifically denies attending Hillsong in that article.

"...Pratt issued a statement that, while it never denied his Hillsong affiliation..."

I never said - nor did the others above say - he attended, just that he was linked, which he freely admitted in the past.
