He attends a church with links to Hillsong, and I think it's reasonable as a common usage of language to describe him as a Hillsonger on that basis.

He attends - or at least, at one point he attended - a church whose founder was friends with Hillsong's pastor, spoke at Hillsong conferences, and consciously modeled the church after Hillsong. I think "links to Hillsong" is a reasonable description of those facts.

to be clear, I'm not saying that the church shares Hillsong's politics, just that the church is modeled after Hillsong and the guy who founded it has links to Hillsong

I never said - nor did the others above say - he attended, just that he was linked, which he freely admitted in the past.
