I was eleven when that movie came out, and yeah, pretty much sums it up :p.

But like you, I was interested in storm research even before then. I used to watch the Weather Channel almost religiously when I was a kid, in elementary school I would check out books from the library about various weather phenomenon, and when I was really little I once got an autographed picture from the guy who was the weatherman for our local news at the time. Apparently I really liked watching him, according to my parents :D.

Yeah. It really is frustrating, because there's so much about that line of work that would be so fun and interesting to do.
