There are 5 hours left and I just hit "Epilogue One" oh my god

SA - On the plus side I am absolutely going to use the Bolkonskys as NPCs in my next ttrpg campaign. A retired, seclusionist general count and his mistress, a saintly daughter, a creepy little kid, ghost of a daughter in law, peasants and surfs doing weird shit all around the remote estate as the count slips into senility. Will the PCs fake being religious pilgrims to gain access and rob the place blind or try and put Lise's restless soul to peace and kill the count when he attacks in a fit of paranoia?

Also there are just borzois everywhere and a wolf hunt goes off track when a pack of werewolves show up.

I have a few more fun thoughts, but not many and they're waiting to see if anyone knocks the current front runner of the Biggest Bitch Award throne.

Omg I want to see this game lol.

You're kind of making me want to do an "X updates" with either Avatar the Last Airbender as I've only ever actually seen a few episodes when it came out, OR choose some random classic and do reactions (much like I did in the margins of my copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh, which I really loved, but sold because I needed the money for new school books :( I think I'll get myself a new copy someday).

It'll be part of my Pathfinder campaign (maybe, still pending players but OMG Pe2 is so good everyone look at it plz) in either Ustalav (fantasy Transylvania) or Irresen (Russian Narnia) depending on which way the players go.

AYYYY, F!S book club! I feel like the natural follow up is Crime and Punishment (CAP Updates) but like anything would be fun. And oh god, you're going to have so much fun Avatar is so great!

That's so cool!!! Are you meeting up with people or is it online TTRPG? I gotta find me one to join! (I've never played Pathfinder, and only did a short D&D campaign w Please provide updates with the campaign, I need to hear how these characters end up lol

Well I do have my ebook of Crime & Punishment ready to go... my friends tried doing a little book club a few years ago with this book and lmao we never finished. So maybe? After you finish I'll start up that one, with a different translation. The only other Dostoevsky novel I've read has been Humiliated and Insulted and I'm still working on it lol. But so far, his books really open up with "i was a penniless writer, in this cold winter..."

I'm really down for this F!S bookclub (which i think a long time ago there was something like it? I know one user used to do movie streams...) which is essentially summaries and reaction takes from the reader and we all comment lol.

Also, exited for Avatar as well!!

I have to second book club!
(Though I am mostly reading non fiction and I don't really think that "Modernist architecture in Leningrad" is something people are going to be excited about :D)

Honestly... I would be down! I'm currently on a non fiction kick, mostly science/ecology, but I'm open to architecture!

I do think the best way to do an FS book club is definitely, one person just picks a book and posts about it while they're reading it and everyone else comments or doesn't based on how they feel

Sounds like how we operate now! Lol

In person, I've done online for the past few years (wonder why...) and it's just not as fun. When people put real emphasis into maps and visuals and you have a small group it can be ok but that's a lot of work and it's so much easier to pile 6 people in a chat you know? ::SIGH:: (I likely won't be able to shut the fuck up about it any more than anything ever so don't worry, it it happens.)

I am positively transcendentally gleeful about these goddamn titles. Is all classic Russian literature titled in X and Y format? Fantastic branding all around. (I know it's not only because of Brothers Karamozov, but only *just*)

I have no idea what we should do, I just know that I want something that's in the public domain so it's easy to get a hold of. But also, piracy, so I can be convinced otherwise.

I do like the public domain aspect (not sure how easy or available libraries are for people) and if course there are other way etc.
