Uh, it isn't like the other fantasy ceased to get. Yes, I do think there is a disproportionate amount of grimdark. But the other stuff is still on the shelves. It isn't like kids only ever read things the year they are published.

This is not an insult, but you sound like people on booktok who say booktokkers only recommend the same five books and there's no diversity.

It's there if you look for it (and no, don't ask me, I'm not really a fantasy/SF-fantasy reader so I can't give any recommendations), I've seen a lot of different genres come up on my fyp and I've only had tiktok for like, six months.

LJ RP was never like that, though? Back in the early days of LJ RP, a lot of the games and communities were private/kept amongst a small group of people/invitation-only and you had to know the right people in order to know they existed or be invited to play in them.

What routines do your pets insist on having happen every day? Or what are there favorite things to do with you?



My kitty jumps up on my lap for her morning pets every morning. She will insist. As soon as I sit up for the first time, she climbs right up and starts rubbing against me until I start the pets.

She also prefers it when I lay down for a little while before dinner so she can take a little nap on top of my legs.

Agnes experiences fatphobia quite a bit- it's the reason she's not the star of the show when she clearly should be. I really don't experience the book itself as fatphobic. However I do not experience fatphobia so... maybe more thoughts?

Is it better if you alway play as a mage (usually an elf except for Hawke) and you always romance the elf with a Tragic Past?

That's what I do. Then again, I do believe that it's just as cliché as the human noble who romances another human albeit in a different way. I mean, I wouldn't do it because it's boring to me (except for Anders. He's a lot of things but boring is not one of them), but I'm not judging, it's just a different kind of fantasy. My fantasy is to fight against oppression (mage rights FTW) but it's not more legit that somebody who wants to be a Mary Sue.

Except for Cullen. I judge you if you played DA2 and you still romanced Cullen. Especially if you're a mage. Fenris's got a pass because he's got trauma and you can rivalmance him (and I just love Gideon Emery's voice). I might have romanced Cullen if it were possible to rivalmance him because I feel like that might have been interesting.

The other thing I tend to judge when it comes to Dragon Age (and Mass Effect too) is if you play as a warrior (or soldier). It's just the most boring thing ever and you can do it if you play literally any other game! Rogues and mages are much more interesting to play imo.
