Well... but I think that's one of the big reasons that people think that writing for attention and friendships is "doing fandom wrong", though. Not because it's morally wrong, but because it's extremely stressful, especially for people with things like abandonment issues or anxiety. Obviously if you're happy with it that's great though! But it's a very tricky way to approach fandom imo.
