Like, if I am going to judge them based on which group I find more embarrassing, it would be MLP collectors. At least with Disney adults you can have fun at (from what I've heard) an amazing amusement park.

So long as it's silent I won't be hating on you too much.

This is biased because I am to a degree a Disney adult, I like hearing the different reasons people have for enjoying Disney stuff.

Also, it's not lost on me that a man who had such a childhood devoid of childish joy and happy childhood memories wanted to create a world (whether through his theme parks or through the stories he financed) filled with so much comfort given to our most childish joys.

Not to say I ever want to defend Disney (the man and the corporation) from the usually earned criticisms hurled their way too much.

I really don't know much about this fandom, so who qualifies as a Disney adult? Is it massive Disney fans in general or strictly adults who visit Disneyland/world?

I work with a disney adult, and my trainer is one, too. They're both nice people, especially in that they know I would prefer disney to die a fiery death, and mostly agree that disney business practices suck. Doesn't stop them from giving disney money, tho....

What makes someone a Disney adult? Is it just anybody who likes Disney movies or is it just collecting Disney stuff?

I'm genuinely asking because I've seen people get mad about Disney adults for ages and I like Disney stuff as a part of my general interest with animation, so I'm wondering where's the bar at or if its just anything goes.

May be worth considering what you judge about Disney adults, and whether it is style internalised cringe culture stuff that you direct towards them because it's been directed towards your hobby

I read one of Zhao's other books because it sounded so cool and had some pretty good reviews, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The MC read like a realistic kid, but the other characters were flat and there was a whole bunch of info-dumping. Plus it ended on a cliffhanger, which was really obnoxious.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Personally, I really wanted to like it, it was my most anticipated series of the year, but I just couldn't get over the cringy attempts at "humor" or the undercurrent of disdain for the original movie.

I posted a secret several weeks ago about thinking a host of one of the podcasts I listened to was in love with the other based on the way they acted/things they said and people said I was imagining things. It has since been revealed that they've hooked up several times in the past and what I thought was unrequited probably isn't, but the one just didn't know how to react or didn't want to talk about it publicly (but has clearly changed their mind since it's come up a few different times since the first mention). My first thought was "aha! I knew it!" lol.

Anyone else have anything they want to be like "I knew I was right!" about? :D
