Eh, kind of. It is more people playing up that England is hosting Eurovision, and then "forgetting" to mention that it is because Ukraine won it and obviously cannot host it until Putin finally falls flat on his face. It is more a tactical omission than an outright falsehood.

no? this is what's on the news every day, people all over are talking about this every day, we're fucking tired and pissed off at our government but we can do shit all about it because they've either wrested control from hung-parliaments or they keep getting voted in by a middle class demo they're very good at duping into believing will be 'protected' by the tory fuckwits in charge.

Yeah, I've heard "everyone voting for Ukraine was a pity vote so really the UK won!" which is annoying, because I really liked Ukraine's song.

Ukraine's song is good! I do like Shum more though, I was sad they were absolutely robbed in 2021.
And UK's song is bland, it's better than usual, but it's bland. So yes, I do think voting was political, but also I think song and number were good.

Shum should have won in 2021 definitely. I do think it was political voting that meant Ukraine won, but there's always been political voting in Eurovision so it doesn't make it any less valid as a win. Uk's song was definitely bland but then most winners are.

I’ve never seen that. Granted I’m in America now but all of my friends and Facebook friends are still there and no one has pretended this is what’s happening. Some are still grumbling we should have won but that’s just because they’re taking a break this time from grumbling about how shit our song was.

I live here in the UK and I've barely heard anything about eurovison - though I suppose we will the closer its gets for eurovision to start again.

With that said, I don't really care about eurovision so I haven't gone out my way to look for anything related to it either. The guy who got second place pops up on the news from time to time with the song he sung, and frankly I'm bewildered that such a bland song got any votes at all.

God, any time I see an English person being "I'm English</>" it reverts me right back to late 2000s at a fan forum where a BNF couldn't get over the fact that she was English and made it a point to remind people that not all British people are English and Americans just don't understand the nuance of British culture.
And it's like, who the fuck are you talking to? Hand over the David Beckham pictures or move.
