How often does this come up? I don't think one is more inherently interesting than the other (though we probably do need more slave-centered narratives to even up all the "I'm a nice slave owner actually" ones), but it seems like a pretty easy topic to avoid if you don't like either. Or is there another kind of slave-related narrative that you do like, and these ones keep getting in the way?

I think the stories about killing slavers are probably a response to the stories about slavers.
