Of anyone has any suggestions for popular music a late teens kid would listen to in her car while cruising around, I'd be very grateful. Drive time rock is the genre I'm going for.

In the UK? Very unlikely that a late teens kid has a car. But if she does, Nirvana and Pearl Jam were extremely popular (I was 18 in 1993), along with Radiohead, the Cranberries, REM, Stone Temple Pilots, Faith No More, U2 had the Zooropa album out, Violent Femmes.

SA Oh, and themed mixtapes made by her friends. We made those for each other all the time. So you can put just about anything on and say a friend made it for her ironically, or her friend really likes this dumb old song, or she's never heard this song before because her friend has all the weirdest music and so on.

Canonicly she has a Peugeot 205 CTI. So any specific era appropriate songs are what I'm after. Thanks.

I'm Australian, but any non-Australian song on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_J_Hottest_100,_1993

Maybe Erasure. My friend was really into The Cure and Morrissey around then. Not really rock, more punk and alt, but there was some crossover. Probably Oasis. If you're thinking Hard Rock, Def Leppard.

Wayne's World came out in 92, so Bohemian Rhapsody. It's also likely a teen girl at that time would be into Take That and East 17, if boy bands are her thing.

But for rock specifically, you should look up the NME, Q magazine, and Kerrang! albums and singles of the year list. And probably check 92 too. I was a toddler back then so I don't know if there were any other magazines, but they were the kind of magazines British rockers were reading through to the 2000s.

There is 100% definitely a Best of Queen cassette in that car. (That was just how it worked in the early 90s.)
