A really annoying trend I noticed is thinking that if it sounds like natural written English, it's "missing the spirit of the original" or whatever. When translations are so literal that it sounds clumsy and unnatural, it's a feature and not a bug for them because apparently it's more authentically Chinese. It's very orientalist.
