Anon with comment above you: I kind of agree. It doesn't take an edgy asshole to think there must be some catch to an entirely perfect society. I think the basic idea for that story could work, even though I don't believe utopia is possible in real life, in idealistic fiction it's a fine what-if to examine. But the main character turning out to be an asshole who just needs to accept it's easy to accept utopia's existence if you stop being so nihilistic would definitely read as a strawman.
