Yeah, I'm aro-ace and I've been using the term Compulsory Het Ship for years now, about tons of canon ships, because the majority of them really do feel like that to me. That's not to say I don't like any het pairings. I like quite a few het pairings, and I ship a few as well. But for every canonical het pairing I like, there's like ten that feel half-assed and compulsory to me. It's the inescapability of them that makes them rankle, more than anything.
