No, I think it varies a lot by fandom. In one of my fandoms there's a lot of kinky aces. In another, there's a lot of friendshipper aces (and a few kinky ones!). In a third, there's a lot of "STOP ALL THIS SHIPPING IT'S GROSS" aces, which is annoying, because it's one of my very few fandoms with a canon queer ship.

But I don't doubt that your group is kinky aces, because they do seem to flock together!

Hmmm. It almost sounds like you could be talking about one of my fandoms, but not completely. In mine, I've seen some ace fans say they don't want to see a sex scene between the canon m/m ship because they're uncomfortable with sex scenes in general (and some people headcanon the characters as ace) but they absolutely still ship them. I've seen some people call them homophobic, which I think is unfair unless it's specifically queer sex scenes that they're against. People who are ace AND queer (and dislike all sex scenes, regardless of the gender(s) of the people involved) exist, and I think a lot of the time people forget that or don't realize it's a thing to begin with.
