Yeah, it bothers me too. YKINMK, YMMV and all that, but when I am into a particular pairing - no matter what the gender/sex of the partners are - I want to read about those genitals and more importantly those characters. When cis characters are trans in fic or there's gender swapping or whatever, the characters are often (understandably) OOC too. So what appeal is there for me, as a member of the fandom, to read about two unrecognizable characters with genitals I'm not in the mood for? Just tag your fic so people who do want to read it can find it and people who don't can avoid it.
