There are cycles to this (longevity!). Years ago I remember everyone recommending me this movie not at all being pro-Clive, but in recent years, as ~*Dark Academia*~ has taken hold of certain parts of fandom, the Clive/Maurice ship has risen in popularity to the point where it might currently be the dominant one.

Forster would be completely disgusted if he knew about Dark Academia lmao.
