A while back I found the start of a horror story I wrote nearly a decade ago. It was written in the form of a diary and at one point the character goes "another weird thing happened, but I'll write about it later". I never actually wrote the "later" and I absolutely cannot remember what it was. Every time I think about it I get so mad.

I have this problem a lot when I write anything diary-like IRL. Going back and re-reading absolutely makes me want to shake my past self for the stuff I mention but do not explain. And I know at the time that I'm not feeling secretive at all, it's just hard to tell which things are short term obvious and which ones will not be.

Anyway. Empathizing forever with you and OP.

Oh man, the absolute worst thing is when you're reading a really good fic, and you get to the last part, and it's unfinished and abandoned, and then you remember too late that you're in your wips folder. How could the author be so cruel???
