I don't disagree, I don't like rimming either, but I am curious about people's opinions on like, what sex acts need to be tagged. Is it every single one under all circumstances? Bc that seems excessive, but I don't really know how you draw a line between "normal and don't need to be specifically tagged" and like, "gross enough that you are obligated to tag".

I'm not really bothered by the act of rimming in itself, but by the lack of preparation involved (that includes fics that start in the middle of sex so I can pretend prepping happened offscreen). Most of the time characters just stick their tongues into unwashed asscracks without any preamble. And, well, consuming excrement is a major squick for me so I've had to close several fics that were otherwise really good.
Which is a long ramble to say that I agree with OP about tagging.

Agreed so hard. Rimming is one of my biggest squicks and untagged rimming is one of the quickest ways to get me to back-button the fuck out of a fic, even if I was otherwise enjoying it. I mean, to each their own and all, but I swear I will never understand the appeal.

A while back I found the start of a horror story I wrote nearly a decade ago. It was written in the form of a diary and at one point the character goes "another weird thing happened, but I'll write about it later". I never actually wrote the "later" and I absolutely cannot remember what it was. Every time I think about it I get so mad.

I never even registered this as an age-gap, tbh. I mean, I only casually watched SG-1, so that's probably part of it. But my reaction to this secret was, "Them? Did they have an age gap? Was it more than like a few years? Huh." I'm genuinely surprised to discover there was like 14 years between them--not a huge age gap, at their ages, but substantial enough to feel relevant.

Since Post #5874, with the 'favourite fic book-binding' secret, I've had a bug in my ear, and now I kind of want to follow suit - get my favourite story I've ever written stealth-published through Amazon and buy myself an author copy so I can see it in print, as a little birthday gift to me. I know the idea got support last time it was brought up; but since I'd be doing it for a me-story and not another person's story, is it a different ball game? Am I being wasteful?
