It's the tired, overdone Burton-goth aesthetic that did it for me, but you're definitely not wrong with that comparison.

Same for me.
I can't really watch or rewatch any Burton movie now. I'm just done with him.
At least for now. Maybe in the future I will become nostalgic of its aesthetic and revisit his works, but I was never super iper invested in it to begin with.

I continue to love Nightmare before Christmas, though. That's the only one I save.

I think the Burton aesthetic is over done for a generation or two of us. There's a bunch of kids growing up now that probably are eating it up the way we did. Also, whatever happened to Emily the Strange?

Ironically, I felt it wasn't Burton ENOUGH! It felt like knock-off Burton. A suggestion of Burton. What happened, man?
