If people are asking you for recs in older fandoms its because they know you are likley familiar with a lot of works as you participated in that fandom back in the day. That they are asking at all means they trust your judgement and imo its not unreasonable at all to ask someone who participated in a fandom for recs.

If you don't want to do that though, no one is forcing you to. But you have some options:

- Ignore the requests
- Put a note on your profile that says you do not give recs.
- Make a rec page somewhere (dreamwidth, neocities etc) and then link it on your profile and people can get your recs without interacting with you.
