If you don't want to block antis, don't block them! Enjoy their content and ignore the creators.

If you choose that, though, don't then turn around and complain to third parties about all these antis you keep seeing, because people will naturally keep telling you to just block them. So avoid that and everyone's happy!

Too be clear, I don't block "proship DNI" on moral grounds. I block "proship DNI" because I don't wanna deal with them noticing my policy of "I do not care that other people are writing content that would squick me to read, because I will simply not read that content" and deciding that this must make me a pedophile incest rapist Nazi abuser who likes Akuroku.

I'm sorry OP. It really sucks that the infestation in your fandom is so bad. In some fandoms that are less overrun, I just block "proshippers DNI" on site because it's in both our best interests. They don't want to interact with me and I don't want to interact with them. Nothing of value (to me) is usually lost.

Not exactly the same, but I get a certain smug pleasure out of seeing antis and PROSHIP DNI types interacting with my content. Because I do make a fair bit of gen and more tame stuff! But I also write erotic cannibalism, gore, incest, age gap, noncon, the works. These are all on the same account, so it's not like it's some sort of ~evil dark secret~ either. LOL, something about it just gives me a sense of "ah, so this is how real your so-called ironclad morals are"

i'm just glad (and relieved!) that none of my fandoms on tumblr have been this crazy. i'm thinking this anti vs pro-ship stuff must happen most often in bigger fandoms or something because mine are all fairly small and chill.

Blocking antis isn't a moral imperative it's about cutting down on ugly drama. Or at least cutting down the ugly drama effecting you.

I hope you're having fun OP! I'm a fandom boring and your fandom sounds like a sleeping volcano I don't want to be near. But I'm not you! And fandom is for fun!

Moral panics in fandom suck ass. Even YTers I follow who say they're antis/lean towards anti ideals get on my nerves. I don't outright unfollow but I do understand their POVs can be biased in ways I don't agree with. It's frustrating because years ago Princess Weekes came out with a great video dissecting purity culture that I felt was nuanced and well thought out and people are still refusing to open up their minds and take into consideration that life is hard and complex and trying to police how YOU want fandom to be for "everyone" you're making the space worse, less "accepting" than what everyone keeps saying they want it to be.

I only watched this movie when it came out so I can't remember a lot of it. But it seemded to me that at the end it was almost like the son was telling himself his own little fairytale about his father in order to feel better about his childhood.

Not sure if that interpretation would hold up on a rewatch.

If it's based at least partly on the 'actual' son business. Because I would definitely think less of people who discount family that isn't biologically related. And even if it was just the favorite thing, I wouldn't think it was ridiculous or unfair to be wary of how that would play out (I guess it could be petty, but eh).

There's a finite time we all have on earth. PTerry spent his writing over 50 novels which brought joy to millions across the world. I think he did enough.
