The only time I did a non-Yuletide exchange, I was assigned to a BNF who wrote one of the most-read fics for the pairing.

My recip never acknowledged it. No comment, no kudos, no mention on their tumblr or twitter, nothing. And boy, were they active af, especially on twitter. I also looked at their gifts tab, and it was habitual to never interact.

All of which is to say, OP, I feel you. That behavior sucks.

If they had a habit of not interacting, they should never have been allowed in the exchange, honestly.

It was a very small exchange, and I don’t think it was something the organizers thought would happen. I told one of the mods and she was furious. Unfortunately, she also left fandom since, and I don’t know if she passed the word on. Oh well.
