I'm quiet busty and my bras would rub in all kinds of ways from the strain. An extra layer between skim and scaffolding has helped a ton and there hasn't been much in the way of wrinkles. The shirts already fit me after all.

Huh, it's actually making my current bra not fit me. It's an unpadded, structured cup bra, and I only just have enough projection to fully fill out the cups. But the underwire holds the shirt fabric taught against my chest, which flattens and decreases my projection just slightly, and so the cup ends up wrinkly. Admittedly, if the bra was perfect for me, and not made for someone with a bit more projection than I have, this wouldn't be an issue. But still, an interesting result!

It IS a lot more comfortable, though, so I'll probably do this when the slightly wrinkly cups aren't going to show through whatever I'm wearing over top.

Have you tried the tried-and-true bend over and pull your chest up through the neck of the shirt thing?
Do that with the shirt and then do it again once you have the bra on (gently, so as not to wrinkle the shirt up big time), and maybe it will pull you up and out enough to make the cups un-wrinkly.

Ah the swoop and scoop! I tried my best, but with the shirt on underneath, my projection is still just sliiightly too shallow for the bra. It does make the bra a lot more comfortable, though, so I say OP's tip is a winner!

I just tried their tip with a couple other bras and it worked fine! Unfortunately, my other bras aren't the ones that have bands I find irritating on my skin.

I probably should've returned this bra, but it was heavily on sale, and also I struggle to find bras with 30 bands that have good side support. (I'm in Canada and shopping online here without paying through the nose for shipping and returns is difficult.)

Frustrating! But at least it makes the bra wearable; nothing so miserably uncomfortable as a freakin' ill-fitting bra!

Huh, I've gotta say I've never heard "projection" as a word for boobs before. That's a new one.

AYRT - Yeah, I've spent some time on the r/ABraThatFits forum where people are nerds about this stuff, plus reading articles about professional bra fitting. There are a lot of elements of bra fit that most major bra retailers never bring to light. Projection is a big one. You can have projected breasts, standard, or shallow, all within technically the same cup and band size, and it tends to make a huge difference in what sorts of bras fit you best.

Here's a (totally SFW) diagram illustrating the issue. This would be someone with projected breasts and bra-cups that weren't deep enough, which is the opposite of my issue, but you get the picture.
