Thinking most people want the same thing as you in fiction is the root of lots of misunderstandings that lead to nasty discourse. If you think most people want healthy ships, and therefore everyone who ships two characters with a terribly unhealthy canon dynamic believes their dynamic is actually healthy or could easily be so, and therefore those people are wrong/dumb/enabling toxic relationships IRL... Your mistake is assuming the shippers want healthy ships. Lots and lots of people love unhealthy ships because the unhealthiness is the appeal. They have no delusions that their ships are healthy or should be used as a guide for IRL relationships. Different people just like different things. It's that simple.

AYRT didn't say anything about wanting healthy ships personally?
