I would go ahead and write it, and maybe in a note mention "I was scrolling through Tumblr and it seems I'm not the only one with a similar ideas. Check this out!" Or something to that effect.

There are only so many ideas and "original plots" you can come up with that someone else hasn't already thought of!

I think of a fic I wanted to write, vaguely/loosely inspired by another fic. Plots are pretty different, but the "assistant/secretary" role to the big bad/romance interest is still key and inspired by that fic..BUT HOW MANY FICS DON'T ALREADY PLAY ON THAT TROPE?

End of the day, it's fic. We're all borrowing. Nothing wrong with sharing something similar or inspired by to help incite the fandom growth/love.
