I write them. Fandom of one, baby. Ain't no one else online that apparently cares enough to write for some of my fandoms so I gotta be the torchbearer here in the dark void.

Outside that sad fact, I pretty much exclusively use AO3 these days and always exclude Crossovers in the search. In my largest fandom, I'll exclude all the popular ship tags too in order to find the rare pairs I am so hungry for.

Yeah, I'll often have to exclude tags. Or sometimes what I'll do when I'm searching for the f/f mini-juggernaut ship I like is include fic tagged F/F and exclude fic tagged M/M. Because often there will be fics where the m/m mega-juggernaut ship in the same fandom is included in the background, but if they aren't a focus of the fic it won't be tagged M/M.
