lol, I literally just did that battle for the first time last night. Crystal Tower really went all out on the FF3 nostalgia train, I didn't expect they would actually go that far (but I'm not sure why I didn't).

Due to familiarity with the original FF3 version of Cloud of Darkness, I'm quite sure you're not alone. Even in the original NES sprites she's basically naked and surrounded by snakes/tentacles.
