Funny story about this song - my city has dinner theater where they put on shows and just shoehorn in random songs (sometimes this works, most of the time it doesn't!).

One show, Rock and Roll Heaven had the angel of Leonard Cohen singing this, and they absolutely cut out all the best parts and sanitized it to hell.

Then again, they did the same to Angel George Harrison and My Sweet Lord. I wanted to yell "sing the whole songs you cowards!"

The fic that used to be this in my OTP fandom is really OOC. I'm glad that the fandom seems to have moved away from that one and that a lot of people now agree with me that it is OOC.

I feel like people have no idea how unbelievably privileged that take is when their first language is English. When you grow up in a country where English isn't the primary spoken language, you get used to reading subtitles because most foreign TV shows don't get dubbed into your language, they just get shown with subtitles. Your choice is either to watch things with subtitles or not watch them at all.

And then native English speakers want to complain about having to read subtitles? Pathetic.

I agree about SG1, but I liked Atlantis because it was basically the same but the main culture they were exploring was technologically advanced and thus ALSO mythologized to the vast majority of the non-technologically advanced societies.

lol, I literally just did that battle for the first time last night. Crystal Tower really went all out on the FF3 nostalgia train, I didn't expect they would actually go that far (but I'm not sure why I didn't).

Due to familiarity with the original FF3 version of Cloud of Darkness, I'm quite sure you're not alone. Even in the original NES sprites she's basically naked and surrounded by snakes/tentacles.
