(Anonymous) 2023-03-16 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)(I figured out I was asexual by watching enough things where I found the men and women attractive and wanted to keep looking at them, but I was never sexually attracted to them and just knew that I would be if I were capable of that, so I concluded I must not be capable.)

(Anonymous) 2023-03-17 01:28 am (UTC)(link)I should clarify that it wasn't just this show, but this was probably final click into place. It was a decades-long process, haha. But basically, yeah, Geralt had no interest for me and I was fascinated by the women who seemed, in my eyes, to be the actual important parts. Geralt was just there. At first I was even annoyed that the "two white guys ship" was everywhere and the actual story, with Ciri's family and the witches and the women affected by the comet, was so overlooked in fandom--I started disliking the show and the fandom because of that!
But then, after another bout of "ugh, why are people so obsessed with Geralt", I had the sudden image of Geralt, exactly as the character is presented in the show, no personality or plot changes, but played by a beefy woman instead.
And my big dumb never-actually-been-attracted-to-a-man-and-never-fully-realized-it brain goes ohhhhh THAT'S what people are seeing!!! A grumpy buff lady!Geralt covered in mud would definitely make this my favorite show in the world, I get it now.
