I can ignore a lot of unrealness in my smut: two virgins having perfect mindblowing sex at first try - sure; people being able to marathon sex for hours on end without any breaks - absolutely; all love interests share all their kinks - bring it on. But I absolutely can not with lack of prep/foreplay. My brain will just come screeching out the suspension of disbelief and despite what the text is saying I'm convinced that the characters are having a miserable time. Also, prep/foreplay is solid 97% of what makes a sex scene sexy, so I've never understood those who want to skip it in their smut. What will you even have left to wank over? Just some boring humping.
