you're probably just not picking up the right books. Though if you really want to get back into it, personally, I think it's more fun reading books when you have people to discuss them with. You could try seeing if you could get a family member or friend to read with you. Part of why I read so much is because me and my mother tear through books (mother being an English lit major, me being just a bibliophile) and then discuss them, sometimes rushing out to get the sequel if it's a series and bickering over who gets to read it first. Or you could join a book club nearby. If you have to take buses or trains a lot, just carry a little book with you to dip into when you haven't got anything better to do.

Of course this is all supposing you WANT to get back into reading. If you're happy just reading fanfiction, go ahead, I'm just making suggestions :V
